Description

The Po-Jazz, or the art of mixing Poetry and Jazz, as a performing art form has taken Denver by storm. Del Castillo’s poetry is rhythm-based as he is a conga player but he is often supported by the musical group Brown Obsidian. Del Castillo’s poetry includes themes of veterans, immigrants, social justice, and celebration of other musicians. He was the head of the transformative Chicana/Chicano Studies department at Metro State College, Denver.
