In 2019, the author Olibama Tushar was honored by Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame with the Legacy Award and she was also honored on the international stage by the International Biographical Center, Cambridge, England in 1990 for finding and translating old Spanish documents. Olibama was born in Los Rincones, Colorado, in the San Luis Valley and descended from the first Spanish settlers of New Mexico who migrated north in 1849.
